A collaboration with the Water Forum: the Lower American River
Notes from the river, June 10, 2021.
With Jessica Law, Executive Director of the Water Forum, Tom Biglione, and Chuck Watson, a self-described “fluviologist” (lover of rivers) and paddler. I’d be hard pressed to find anyone who knows this river as well as Chuck. Sailor Bar to Grist Mill. An indepth experience of perceiving the river from the water, cause and effect of human interactions on the natural science of what the water wants to do. I feel that this specific water, generating high in the Sierra, has a mystery and drive of its own. It does in fact, regardless of the needs of man, and Chinook, beaver and heron. All else must adapt. I hope to find a kernel of how.
